2025 Amnesty Application: Special Regulation for Foreigners Working in Domestic Services

Within the scope of the new practice carried out by the Directorate of Migration Management, an amnesty arrangement has been introduced under certain conditions for foreigners who entered Turkey legally, but later became in violation by exceeding the duration of their stay. However, this regulation only applies to domestic workers and is not a general amnesty for all foreigners.

🔹 Who Can Benefit?

Only the following people can benefit from this amnesty:

• Foreigners who have entered Turkey legally,
• Persons who are in residence violation after the end of their stay,
• Persons who will apply for residence to work in domestic services,
• Persons with a passport valid for at least 8 months at the time of application.

In applications made within this scope, residence permits can be obtained without administrative fines.

❌ Who is not eligible for this amnesty?

The following persons cannot benefit from this regulation:

• Those who entered Turkey illegally,
• Those who do not have a valid passport or whose passport duration is not sufficient,
• Those who want to work in any occupation other than domestic service.

There is a lot of false and misleading information about this issue on the internet. Headlines such as “general amnesty” and “amnesty for everyone” unfortunately do not reflect the truth. This regulation only applies to those who meet certain conditions.
